David J. Paterson

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Paterson has an extensive background in the forest products industry. He was previously Executive Vice-President, Building Products Division of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, and prior to the merger held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for Bowater. Mr. Paterson holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Alain Grandmont

Senior Vice President, Commercial Printing Papers Business

Mr. Grandmont has over 23 years of experience in the forest products industry and holds a B.A. in Industrial Relations from the University of Laval, Québec. He has held various positions within Abitibi-Consolidated including Vice-President, Human Resources, General Manager at the Alma and Kénogami mills in Québec; and, most recently, Senior Vice President, Commercial Printing Papers for Abitibi-Consolidated.

William G. Harvey

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Harvey holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and an MBA from the University of Toronto. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. During an extensive career in finance, Mr. Harvey has held various executive positions for Avenor and Bowater and, most recently, the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Bowater.

Yves Laflamme

Senior Vice President, Wood Products Business

Mr. Laflamme holds a degree in business administration from the Université du Québec and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He began his career in the forest products industry in 1981 with Donohue, holding various positions in sales and finance, most recently in the position of Senior Vice President, Woodlands and Sawmills for Abitibi-Consolidated.

Jon Melkerson

Senior Vice President, International and Business Development

Mr. Melkerson holds a B.Sc. in Business Science from Indiana University and an MBA/MMA from Northwestern University. With more than 20 years of experience in executive sales and management positions for Abitibi-Price and Abitibi-Consolidated, Mr. Melkerson previously held the position of Vice-President, International Newsprint Sales for Abitibi-Consolidated.

Pierre Rougeau

Senior Vice President, North American Newsprint

Mr. Rougeau has a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Louis University and a M.Sc. in finance from Sherbrooke University, Québec. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, he was previously Managing Director and Head of Forest Products at UBS Warburg (Canada) and prior to the merger served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer for Abitibi-Consolidated.

W. Eric Streed

Senior Vice President, Supply Chain

Mr. Streed earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Mississippi. During his extensive background in the forest products industry, Mr. Streed has held positions with Georgia-Pacific and Domtar before joining Bowater as Executive Vice President of Operations and Process Improvement.

Jacques P. Vachon

Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Chief Legal Officer

Mr. Vachon is a member of the Quebec Bar, holds an Executive program diploma in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Stanford University in California, and is a graduate in law from Sherbrooke University. Prior to the merger, Mr. Vachon served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Secretary for Abitibi-Consolidated.

James T. Wright

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Mr. Wright earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas. He previously held executive positions within Weyerhaeuser and Georgia-Pacific. Most recently, Mr. Wright served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources for Bowater.
